Shelton has withdrawn from the Wyndham Championship, per Rob Bolton of PGATour.com.
Shelton will withdraw from the Wyndham Championship and end his 2024 season on the PGA Tour. The 28-year-old currently ranks 143 in the FedEx Cup standings and would have needed a victory at the event to make the top 70 in the standings. It is currently unknown why Shelton withdrew from the Wyndham, but he will have to wait until next season for his next opportunity to appear on the PGA Tour.
Shelton fired a six-under 73 to finish tied in the 57th spot in the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Shelton failed to register a single birdie in the final round. It was the first time in time in the competition that the 28-year-old could not register a single birdie in a round. He ended up with a bogey which was tied at fifth. It was the fourth time this season that Shelton finished outside the top 50 players in a competition. He will feature in the upcoming John Deere Classic.
