Finau closed with a four-under 67 on Sunday at the 3M Open to finish in a tie for 12th place.
Finau was the clear betting favorite this week due to his play the last several months and the fact that he had played in every previous edition of the 3M Open, notching a win in 2022 and three top-10s. It was nearly another top-10 in Blaine for Finau, but this isn't really the type of result he was hoping for. His short game really let him down ranking 52nd in SG: Around-the-Green and 68th in scrambling. Finau will looked to get that cleaned up ahead of the FedExCup Playoffs.
Finau finished in a share of fifth place after his four-under 66 in the final round of the Travelers Championship.
Finau had a share of the lead after a birdie on the par-4 15th hole, but it all fell apart with a terrible swing at 16 which ultimately led to a double-bogey. Finau certainly played well enough to have a chance to win this week, but execution is still something he needs to work on in the clutch. He ranked second in SG: Around-the-Green, but lost strokes off the tee. Finau is a former winner of next week's Rocket Mortgage Classic, but he is electing to skip it this year.
