Thomas scored a share of fifth place at the Travelers Championship after a four-under 66 in the final round.
Thomas was lurking much of the week, and while he never had enough to truly contend, a T5 in a Signature Event is certainly a good result. This will move Thomas up to 16th in the FedExCup standings. He gained strokes across the board and it was a good bounce back after a missed cut at the U.S. Open. Thomas has looked good enough at times to win this season, but consistency has not been there they way it has been in other seasons throughout his career. He is not listed in the field for the Rocket Mortgage Classic next week.
