Fleetwood moved into a share of fifth place after his three-under 69 in the final round of the BMW Championship.
Fleetwood came into the week as the first man out of the TOUR Championship at No. 31 in the FedExCup. A strong top-five showing in Denver was enough for the Englishman to move up nine spots to No. 22 and secure a place at East Lake again. Fleetwood was led by an excellent driving week at Castle Pines where he ranked ninth in SG: Off-the-Tee and T2 in driving accuracy. He will hope to carry that into the TOUR Championship where he finished T6 a year ago.
Fleetwood posted a five-under 66 on Sunday to claim a Silver Medal at the Olympics.
Fleetwood had a strong start in the final round with seven birdies over the first 12 holes but had to fend off a fast charging Scottie Scheffler, nonetheless. Unfortunately, Fleetwood made a sloppy bogey on the par-4 17th hole and was unable to birdie the closing hole to ultimately lose to Scheffler by one shot. Fleetwood had an excellent week with his iron play and on the greens, ranking fifth in SG: Approach and putting. It's his first top-10 since the Masters in April.
