Fleetwood finished in solo third place at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship following a five-under 67 in the final round.
Fleetwood made 23 birdies and an eagle this week, but it wasn't enough to catch fellow countryman Tyrrell Hatton. Fleetwood will likely rue the double-bogey he made at the par-4 17th at Carnoustie in round one. He is still chasing that elusive first victory in the Dunhill Links, but his overall record is spectacular. Fleetwood now has six top-five's and 11 top-25 finishes in 13 starts at the event. He has finished top-25 in six straight starts overall, including back-to-back third place finishes in Spain and Scotland. We'll likely see Fleetwood back at the DP World Tour Playoffs.
Fleetwood fired a five-under 66 in the final round of the acciona Open de Espana to surge into a share of third place.
Fleetwood continues his strong play having finished T22-or-better in six straight starts with a trio of top-five finishes included in there. The Englishman now moves up to ninth in the Race to Dubai standings and will look for his eighth DP World Tour victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship next week. Fleetwood has never won the Dunhill Links, but has finished top-five on five occasions and outside the top-25 just twice in 12 career starts.
Fleetwood closed with a five-under 67 to finish in a tie for 12th place at the BMW PGA Championship.
Fleetwood was able to recover from an even-par 72 in round three with his low round of the week on Sunday. It helped him to secure his fourth top-15 finish in his last five starts at Wentworth. The Englishman hopes to one day win this event in front of the home crowd. The seven-time DP World Tour winner will hope to add another one at the acciona Open de Espana next week.
