Scott posted an even-par 71 on Sunday at The Open Championship to finish tied for 10th place.
Scott started the round four back of the lead and got off to a great start with two birdies in the first three holes to narrow the gap, but he only made one more birdie the rest of the way to fall out of contention. He had an excellent week with his short game, leading the field in SG: Around the green. The result moves Scott up to 41st in the FedExCup Standings.
Scott finished in solo second at the Genesis Scottish Open after shooting a three-under 67 in the final round.
It looked like it was going to be Scott's day. He carded seven birdies against two bogeys and a double to post 17-under-par. What he couldn't account for was Robert MacIntyre playing the last three holes in three-under to snatch it right from his grasp. While disappointing, this was still a big week for Scott who hadn't finished top-10 since the WM Phoenix Open. He led the field in birdies at the Scottish Open and will hope to feed off the momentum going into the Open Championship next week.
