Lawrence shot a three-under 68 to finish in solo fourth place at the Open Championship on Sunday.
Lawrence was nowhere in the picture going into the weekend, but took advantage of going out early before the conditions got bad on Saturday. He fired a six-under 65 that ultimately put him just one shot back going into Sunday and int the final pairing with Billy Horschel. Lawrence showed little signs of nerves by going out in four-under 32, but his putting stroke seemed to fail him on the back-nine and led to a lot of frustrating pars while Xander Schauffele was making four birdies. Lawrence should be proud of the performance he put up this week at Royal Troon and use it as motivation going forward. The four-time DP World Tour winner locks up a spot in the Masters next year as well as the Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
