Thorbjornsen (knee) has withdrawn from this week's Shriners Children's Open, PGA Tour Communications reports.
Thorbjornsen withdraw following the second round of last week's Black Desert Championship with a knee injury. Clearly it is still a concern for the No. 1 player on the 2024 PGA Tour University Rankings. Thorbjornsen has his card locked up for the 2025 season, so it may be wise to rest and make sure he's 100 percent in January. Wilson Furr gets his spot in the field in Vegas.
Thorbjornsen shot a four-under 68 in the final round to finish in a share of eighth place at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Thorbjornsen drove it great in Jackson ranking fourth in SG: Off-the-Tee, but did not convert as well as he would like with the irons at 59th in SG: Approach. The good news is that the Stanford product was seventh in SG: Putting and T2 in scrambling. Thorbjornsen was already full exempt for 2025 as the No. 1 player in the PGA Tour University Rankings, but results like this have to help his confidence. It's his second top-10 on the PGA Tour since turning pro (T2 at John Deere Classic). Thorbjornsen will tee it up at the Black Desert Championship next week.
