Dunlap shot a one-under 69 on Sunday to finish in a tie for fifth place at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Dunlap made it into the playoffs as a 20-year-old with two victories, but needed a strong showing in Memphis to make it into the top-50 and play the BMW Championship. Dunlap found himself in the final group on Sunday and tried to just chip away at Hideki Matsuyama. Dunlap got within one shot after a birdie at the par-5 16th, but he will be upset with a short iron shot from the middle of the fairway at 17 that led to bogey. He was able to refocus and make par on 18 to secure his spot at the BMW and earn a spot in all the Signature Events in 2025. Dunlap still has a lot of things in his game to refine, but does this guy have some special ability. He's going to be a factor out here for years to come.
Dunlap carded a one-under 71 on Sunday at the Rocket Mortgage Classic to finish tied for 10th place.
Dunlap started the day four shots off the lead and got off to a good start with two birdies in the first five holes, but he fizzled out thereafter with just one more birdie to ultimately finish T10. He had an excellent week with his ball striking, ranking in the top-10 in SG: Off-the tee and approach, as well as tied for first in GIR. It's Dunlap's second top-10 of the year and third top-25 over his last six starts.
