Young recorded a two-over 72 in the final round of the Wyndham Championship to finish tied for 33rd place.
Young trailed by only three shots heading into the closing round but had a day to forget as he carded a pair of bogeys and a double bogey over the first five holes to fall out of contention. On a positive note, he led the field in SG: Off-the-tee for the week and his struggles were primarily on the greens. Young sits in 31st place in the FedExCup Standings heading into the playoffs.
Young shot an 11-under 59 in the third round of the Travelers Championship and finished the week in a tie for ninth place.
Young shot the 13th sub-60 round in PGA Tour history in round three which included two eagles on par-4s. Following up a round like that is so difficult, but he came out of the gate strong with four straight birdies on Sunday with a combined zero official putts. A double-bogey on the par-4 12th hole really took him out of it, however, and he had to settle for a T9. Young ranked fifth in both SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Around-the-Green for the week and led the field in driving distance. He will look to carry the momentum into the Rocket Mortgage Classic next week.
