Perez carded a two-under 68 on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship to finish tied for 33rd place.
Perez had an uneventful closing round with only three birdies and one bogey, and he made a clutch up-and-down for par on the 72nd hole to finish 70th in the FedExCup and secure the last spot in the playoffs. His 19 birdies ranked tied for seventh for the week and he was also T11 in GIR. Perez has had a solid rookie season with seven top-20s across 21 starts.
Perez fired an eight-under 63 on Sunday at the Olympics to finish in solo fourth place.
Perez looked to be out of medal contention after starting the day six shots off the lead and was only two-under through 11, but he played the next five holes in six-under to storm up the leaderboard surrounded by support from his home country. Unfortunately, he was unable to convert birdie putts on the closing two holes and finished one shot out of a playoff for a medal. Perez had an excellent week on the greens, ranking second in SG: Putting.
