Robert MacIntyre Robert MacIntyre
RANK 16 | OWGR 3.69
McIntyre closed with a five-under 65 on Sunday at the FedEx St. Jude Championship to finish in a share of seventh place.
Although MacIntyre wasn't in contention to win, he closed strong with a bogey-free back-nine that included four birdies to climb into the top-10. He gained shots in every strokes gained category for the tournament and was fifth in putting. Currently sitting in 12th place in the FedExCup Standings, MacIntyre has locked his spot into the Tour Championship.
MacIntyre fired a three-under 67 on Sunday to win the Genesis Scottish Open by one stroke over Adam Scott.
MacIntyre was so close last year to winning his national open, only for it to be spoiled by Rory McIlroy birdieing the last two holes. This year the Scot put together a heroic finish that included an eagle at the par-5 16th and a birdie on the par-4 18th to seal the victory. MacIntyre got his PGA Tour card via the DP World Tour Race to Dubai and has now turned that into a pair of PGA Tour wins as a rookie. He has all kinds of momentum going to Royal Troon next week to try to win the Claret Jug.
