McNealy finished in a share of third place at the 3M Open after shooting a one-under 70 in the final round.
The former No. 1 ranked amateur has been close on a few occasions, including this week, but is still in search of that elusive first PGA Tour victory. McNealy put himself in great position for the final round with an eight-under 63 on Saturday, but his iron play really failed him on Sunday. This was a good bounce back after missing the cut in his previous two starts and it moves him up to 57th in the FedExCup standings, securing his place in the playoffs. If McNealy can ever find the ball-striking to match his short game and putting look out.
McNealy carded a two-under 70 on Sunday at the Rocket Mortgage Classic to finish eight-under and tied for 44th.
McNealy racked up six birdies while ranking top-10 among the field in both putts per GIR and feet of putts made during his final round in Detroit, but he also tallied two bogeys and a double Sunday. Nonetheless, he's now gained at least four strokes putting in back-to-back starts, and he hasn't missed the cut in an individual event since The American Express back in January. McNealy will tee it up again this week at TPC Deere Run where he was superb with his short game en route to a T8 finish at the 2022 John Deere Classic in his most recent outing there.
