McNealy (illness) has withdrawn from the ZOZO Championship ahead of the second round, PGA Tour Communications reports.
McNealy shot one over during the first round Thursday but was forced out of the tournament due to an illness. He should be good to go for his next potential tournament, which would be the World Wide Technology Championship starting on Nov. 7.
McNealy fired a seven-under 64 in the final round of the Shriners Children's Open to finish in a share of 16th place.
After making the cut on the number, McNealy surged over the weekend with 13 birdies and an eagle (along with three bogeys) across the final 36 holes to climb into the top-20. He did it despite losing strokes on the greens for the week and ranked inside the top-10 in SG: Off-the-tee and GIR. It was a much needed result for McNealy after he missed the cut in his first two fall events as he looks to secure his spot into the first two signature events of 2025.
McNealy carded a two-day total of four-under at the Sanderson Farms Championship to miss the cut by two strokes.
McNealy started the tournament with a respectable 69, but he was unable to get much going Friday with just a pair of birdies (and one bogey) to miss the weekend. He struggled with his ball striking, hitting just 39 percent of fairways while losing strokes off the tee and on approach over the two rounds. After closing the summer strong, McNealy has now missed both cuts this fall.
