Murray passed away Saturday morning, the PGA Tour announced.
Commissioner Jay Monahan offered the following, "We are devastated to learn, and heartbroken to share, that PGA Tour player Grayson Murray passed away this morning. I am at a loss for words." Monahan went onto say, "I reached out to Grayson's parents to offer our deepest condolences, and during that conversation, they asked that we continue with tournament play. There were adamant that Grayson would want us to do so. As difficult as it will be, we want to respect their wishes." There have been no details released as to the cause of death. Murray did withdraw from the Charles Schwab Challenge on Friday due to an illness. Murray was on track for a career-best season having picked up his second PGA Tour win at the Sony Open in January.

Murray will finish the Charles Schwab Challenge with a score of -2 on 68 strokes. Ideally for him, this is not a long-term illness that will keep him out of action for an extended time.
Murray carded a six-under 67 in the PGA Championship to finish tied for the 43rd spot.
Murray had an impressive outing in the last round, where he gained 17 spots. The 30-year-old registers five birdies which was tied at 19th. He also gained 1.13 strokes off-the-tee which was ranked 13th. Murray will play in the upcoming Charles Schwab Challenge.
